The mother hen gathered all her eggs including the eagle egg and sat upon them. After a few days all her eggs hatched including the egg with the eagle. The young eagle grew up with chicken and so he though he was also a chicken. He flew just a few feet high like the other chicken. He ate worms and using his claws he would dig the ground for food. He never thought that he can actually fly very high and he can even eat a monkey. He was used to stooping down in the ground looking for food. One day, he looked up in the sky and he saw two eagle soaring high up in the sky, with their mighty wings stretched in a magnificent way, wind beneath their wings, master of the sky and the forest. He just smiled to himself and then he though, the two birds he just saw were very lucky they were born from an eagle mother. He could never fly as high as them nor be great as they were.   He never thought that they were actually his siblings.

There was once an eagle who laid three eyes in her mighty nest. She lovingly protected her eggs from humidity, strong wind and from other birds who were stealing and eating eggs from nests. She was very strong and was tagged as the mightiest bird in the forest. But one day, she went away from her eggs for a couple of  minutes to gather more twigs for her nest.  When she returned she saw a bird stealing one of  her eggs, she immediately flew towards the bird to get back her egg. But the other bird flew away carrying an egg. She rushed to get her egg back, the other bird was panicking, he was caught stealing and the mother will never leave him alone unless he gives back the egg. In desperation, he let go of the egg. The egg fell in the ground near some chicken eggs.

I remembered a story which was told to me by my abuela just before I went to college. I was very nervous that time, being in a university was a big challenge on my part. I graduated high school in our hometown and being away from my family and out from my comfort zone gave me the feeling of uneasiness and undeniable anxiousness. That day, while I was packing  my things, it was the day I will be leaving and I will be staying in a dormitory, my abuela came to my room and told me a story foretold to her by her  parents. My heart was heavy that time, being in a new place, meeting new people and adjusting to the new environment was exciting as well as scary. What would happen to me in the big city? Will I meet new friends? Will my allowance be enough to sustain my stay? I was asking mu abuela about those questions and instead of answering me straight, she told me the story of an eagle who was taken away from his nest.

What thoughts are flashing through your mind? I don’t know about you, but mine would certainly be something like, “I’m so glad I’m safe now! Are my friends here too?
“Do you see the parallel between the rescue from the sea and the rescue from sin? Nobody who is saved from drowning would say, “Thanks… but no thanks,” then jump back into the dark waters. Some Christians who are saved from drowning in their sin jump back into sin again. Nobody who is saved from drowning would leave his friends to drown. However, some Christians who are rescued from sin do leave their friends to die without Christ.

Ever had a near-death experienced?
Imagine that you and your friends go out sailing one evening. It’s a beautiful outing until the rain comes.
As you’re trying to head back to shore, you’re caught in a huge storm and are at the mercy of the strong lashing seas. The relentless waves throw all of you over-board. Everybody’s screaming for help and calling out the other’s names. Because it’s pitch dark, you can’t see anybody. The voices of your friends are drowned out by the sound of the loud clashing sea.
Just as you are giving up hope for survival, the bright light of a patrol boat shines your way. You’re hoisted up to safety and kept warm under a soft blanket.
